The WAYU underwater acoustic navigation system is designed to determine the geographic location (latitude, longitude) of a moving underwater object equipped with a WAYU Pinger underwater acoustic pinger. The navigation data are generated in the surface navigation receiver.
The system consists of:
The WAYU GIB underwater acoustic buoys are made in housings with excess buoyancy and contain satellite navigation signal receivers, with which they determine their own geographic location, an underwater acoustic receiving path and a radio-frequency transmitting path. Four WAYU GIB underwater acoustic buoys form a so-called floating navigation base: when the underwater acoustic signal from the WAYU Pinger is received at all elements of the navigation base, these elements transmit the navigation information to the uNav WAYU navigation receiver, which calculates the geographic location of the pinger.
The WAYU Pinger underwater acoustic pinger is made using a patented technology as a monoblock completely potted in polyurethane compound and is designed for operation in fresh and salt water (salinity level up to 38 PSU) and in the temperature range from -5 to +50 °C. The maximum operating hydrostatic pressure is 30 bar, which approximately corresponds to 300 meters of water column. The nominal accuracy of determining the geographic location (2DRMS) is 1.5 m.
The uNav WAYU navigation receiver is made as a monoblock completely potted in polyurethane compound. It has a built-in satellite navigation signal receiver and a radio-frequency receiving path.

The warranty period for the supplied equipment kit is 12 (twelve) months and is counted from the date of actual receipt of the devices by the customer, unless otherwise provided by the contract. If, during the warranty period, defects or latent defects are found in the product (latent defects are defects that could not be detected during a check usual for the given product and were revealed only during operation), the Supplier shall eliminate them at its own expense by repairing the product or replacing it with a new one within a period of no more than 30 (thirty) calendar days and specified in the certificate of transfer of the product for repair. The warranty period for the product is extended by the time during which the product was not used because of the identified defects. The time during which the product was not used is counted from the date of the written notification to the Supplier of the identified defects until the day of receipt of the product under the acceptance certificate after repair (replacement). When the product is replaced, the warranty period for the product is counted anew from the date the parties sign the acceptance certificate after repair (replacement). Delivery of the product for replacement work from the Customer’s premises, and after the work has been completed to the Customer’s warehouse, is carried out using the Customer’s own resources.
The warranty obligations do not apply to the product in the case of:
Monoblock devices (pingers, navigation receivers) are fully interchangeable electrically.
The navigation buoys have a fixed address (1 .. 4), and a buoy can be replaced only with a buoy with the same address. The buoy address is marked on the float.
The devices are not rescue or human life-support equipment. Any work using modems must be performed in strict compliance with the requirements of the Intersectoral occupational safety rules for diving/underwater operations, as well as the departmental and local regulations in force for the Customer governing diving operations.
